What is the Audi Advanced Key?Audi vehicles prioritize comfort and convenience, which is why the new models we have in our showroom offer keyless entry and start. This allows you to enter your vehicle and start driving while keeping your key fob in your pocket or in your purse.
This system operates through proximity sensors in the trunks and doors, paired with an electronic key radio inside the key fob. Here are some things you should know about Audi Advanced Key.
1. Proximity Detection
Audi proximity detection allows you to open and get into your vehicle without having remove the key from your purse or pocket. This system lets you unlock the doors of your car, trunk and engine with a single touch of the sensor button on the key.
A proximity sensor that is based on sound also referred to a capacitive proximity sensor uses acoustic waves to detect the presence of objects near. The sensors employ an oscillator that generates the signal, which is transmitted through the air and picked up by an audio microphone, which transforms it into an audio file. The audio files are examined to determine how similar they are and how close they are. If they are similar enough, the system will transmit a wake-up signal to the key and send an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
Proximity detection is just the beginning of an easier and more enjoyable driving experience. The Audi advanced key also has a remote start capability, which allows you to initiate your vehicle's engine from outside of the range of your key's FOB. This can be useful when you're taking groceries out of the trunk, or securing children in their seats, or packing for an family outing.
Audi pre sense basic, meanwhile, is a safety feature that can help you avoid accidents by taking preventive measures prior to collisions occurring. It uses data from several other systems including the front camera, radar sensors and Audi side assist to calculate the probability of a collision and alert drivers. It also triggers automatic braking at speeds up to 250 km/h (155.3) and inform the driver with an alert message displayed in the head-up and virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
When you press your key fob's lock button the Audi advanced key system communicates with the car's sensors. This sends a confirmation code to the computer in the car to confirm that it is a valid key fob. This safeguards against any entry into the vehicle without the proper key fob.
It also lets drivers start their vehicles using the key fob that is in their purse or pocket. The Audi advanced key system utilizes proximity sensors inside the trunk lid and doors, paired with a radio pulse generator in the key fob. The sensors unlock the doors when the key fob is close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). When you open the trunk, or use the door handle the vehicle detects the key and activates the motor.
You can also use your key fob to activate your vehicle's push-button start feature. If the key fob is inside of your purse or pocket it is possible to press the Start/Stop button in the center console to start the engine. The car's sensors check the authenticity of the key fob and once it's confirmed the engine will begin.
The Audi advanced key system comes with a keyless entry feature that allows you to open your vehicle doors by just touching the handle on the outside of the door. It's a great feature for when you've got hands full or are wearing gloves. For example, when you're bringing groceries or children in the car. The system has a trunk release button that lets you open the trunk with an action. This is a fantastic feature for when you're carrying a lot of groceries or children into the vehicle.

3. Keyless Entry
Keyless entry systems is a wonderful convenience when you're carrying groceries, children or gear. You can unlock your car by pressing a button, or a sensor that is mounted on the door handle (some models have this technology built right into the lock). The key fob can also activate the sensors in the vehicle if you're carrying it. This informs the vehicle that you are nearby and that your hand is pressed at the touch of a button. This helps discourage unauthorized use of your vehicle by making sure that only you are able to unlock the doors.
Keyless entry systems often include the ability to remotely start your car without the use of a physical key. Sensors that are mounted in the trunk or tailgate, and sometimes in the doors of the vehicle are used to accomplish this. These sensors will activate the vehicle's engine and unlock the doors when the fob is within a certain distance of the car, typically around 5 feet. You can then push a button to begin your car. This is a great method to get your car warm and toasty before you leave for work in the morning or when it's cold outside.
Some of the most advanced variations of keyless entry do not require any key fobs at all. They can be locked and reopened by using a smartphone application. This is a great option for families or business owners who would like their employees to have access to their company cars. Certain keyless entry systems even keep track of the driver's preferred seat position or cabin temperature. This could be a major time saver while you're pulling into the parking area.
One of the more sophisticated keyless entry systems has a rear hatch feature that is activated by a simple foot wave. This will close and secure the cargo area automatically. You can find this feature in a variety of Audi automobiles and, depending on the model, it might be a standard feature or a paid upgrade. Be aware that these systems aren't completely secure and could be hacked by savvy thieves with some skills or knowledge.
4. Push-Button Start
In contrast to many other vehicle brands, Audi does not offer remote start on its vehicles in its factory capacity. Audi offers an alternative with similar features to remote start, which is called the Audi Advanced Key.

To activate this feature, you will need to have your key fob in your pocket, and close enough to the vehicle. Sensors in the trunk and door handles will activate once you and your key fob are within five feet of the vehicle. If you receive an unambiguous signal and the correct code, the vehicle will then allow you to close the doors or start the engine.
You can drive your Audi A4 with the touch of a button and not have audi lost key to search through your pockets and purse for your keys. This feature is perfect for those who spend much time in the parking lot and can be beneficial if you need to quickly warm up your car for a commute or to run errands.
Once you're inside your vehicle, the system will continue to communicate with the keyfob. This is done using encrypted signals to prevent the hacker from gaining access to your key fob. It also provides a Keyless Go card as a backup. It's credit card sized and can be used to unlock your vehicle if your key fob is lost or malfunctioning.
